New Year = New Challenges!

Happy 2010! I know lots of people who were very glad to see 2009 slip into the past. I don't know about that, but I do know I am excited to see what is in store for us in 2010.

I have an exciting challenge ahead of me. Several, actually. For one, I'll be doing my first "official" speaking engagement as a personal organizer. I've been invited to be a speaker at Christ Fellowships' MOPS program in March. I love these ladies and I want to send them home with some excellent ideas and tips they can implement right away. Having two little ones of my own, I know what a challenge it can be to stay on top of things! I'm beginning to put together my outline and pull ideas from some successful speakers to make it a memorable day for all of us.

My second challenge isn't so much about organizing but it is about making an impact on the community around me. I'm beginning a book study on Dani Johnson's "Grooming the Next Generation for Success". This is quite a unique subject, veering off the course of what is typically written for those who work with or are raising children. Going well past the "how can I get my kids to do what I tell them" subject into how to groom them for financial, emotional, business & spiritual success for their futures. This book is about creating a legacy, not just getting through parenting or working with children. It's been quite impactful in our lives and I am looking forward to participating with others who are truly making the investment into the next generation. Heaven knows, they need it - wouldn't you agree?

The Life Group (book study) begins in February (tba) on Wednesday evenings at 5:00pm EST to 7:15pm. Please share this information with anyone you know who wants to make a difference for the kids and youth in their influence and let them know they can contact me directly for details!

Recently I was blessed by a longtime client when she referred a friend. Ms. S is in the midst of a cluttered home - the conglomeration of her & her late mother's things have all collided in the condo she inherited when her mom passed. She is overwhelmed but I am proud to say she has chosen to take the first step - the most important one! - and contact me for help. I know alot of people who say they need it, but they don't take that step for whatever reason and it breaks my heart to know they are unhappy in a space that is not right for them. I'm looking forward to sharing the photos of our work and successes together.

Lastly, I am looking for a few sincerely needy folks who I can bless with a day of organizing, pro bono. Twelve days of this year I will be reaping what has been sown into me by blessing someone in my community who could not otherwise afford organizing services. If you know of someone, please contact me for an application.

I am excited about this new year and sharing my adventures & experiences with you!

Blessings,

Selene

  1. Hi Selene,
I'm in the CF MOPS group and so excited to hear you speak next month! I have two daughters and LOVE to organize! I have a friend that could use some help organizing. She's asked me several times to help but we never got around to it. I'm not sure of her financial need but know she would not be able to pay. Let me know how I can recommend her.
